Alexandra Patricia Morgan,  best known as Alex Morgan (Diamond Bar, California, United States; July 2, 1989) is an American footballer. She plays as a striker at Olympique Lyon in the top division of French women's football, Division 1 and also in the women's soccer team of the United States. Shortly after graduating early from the University of California, Berkeley, where she played for the women's soccer team, Morgan was drafted the overall number one in the 2011 WPS Project by the Western New York Flash. There, he made his professional debut and helped the team win the league championship. At 22, she was the youngest player on the national team at the 2011 FIFA Women's World Cup. At the 2012 London Olympics, she scored the winning goal in the 120th + 3 'minute of the semifinal against Canada . He finished 2012 with 28 goals and 21 assists, joining Mia Hamm as the only American women to score 20 goals and collect 20 assists in the same calendar year, becoming the sixth and youngest player in the United States.
